About the trainer

Hello and welcome to my site!  I am so glad you are here.  I have designed this website to be an informative place where you can see my training style and technique through my videos and posts.

Id love to tell you little bit about myself and my training background.  i have always been fond of animals, and to tell you the truth- i don't know where i got that gene from.  I grew up with one dog who was an outside dog only.  He didn't last long in the family (i still don't know what happened to him).  luckily, my love for animals growing up helped change my families old ways.  everyone has dogs now! i can officially say, i reached my goal in life- the end. no but really I think since then it has been an aspiration of mine, to train dogs and families who do not know how to control their out of control pup in order to save anymore dogs from being surrendered.  immediately after graduating High School i enrolled into an online school called Animal Behavior College. I began working with dogs right away.  my first job was at a local great Pyrenees rescue.  this is where i adopted the first dog of my own.  when i adopted freckles (if you saw any photos you would know why i named him that) i thought that all the knowledge i was learning in school would make training him easy.  of course i got the lemon, or so i thought.  this guy looooved to hear himself talk, he liked to escape any and all barriers and run away.  he has even pulled me down the street on several occasions.  he was a challenge i was willing to take on, but i knew it would take time.

after graduating from animal behavior college, i landed a job as a full time dog trainer.  living the life and only 21 years old!  i was teaching dogs all sorts of things: sit, come, down, crate training, walking on a leash.  but somehow i was still struggling at home with my own dog.  its not that i wasn't working with him.  he knew plenty of stuff!  he could fetch me a beer, and put away his toys, but i could not get this dog to be quiet.  nor could i allow him to be off leash. ever. i had accepted the fact that he just would never be an off leash dog. but when my mom was watching him while i was away on vacation, i got a call.  "freckles has been missing for 2 hours, bolted right out the front door."  i was fortunate enough that a nearby neighbor had gotten him.  but i was afraid to chance it again.  i began looking at other training options.  i knew there had to be some method out there that could work.  i stumbled across a local trainer who specialized in balanced training methods, meaning he used both treats and corrections. now coming from a positive reinforcement only background, i was very nervous to say the least.  was i going to harm the relationship with my dog?  but i had no choice but to take some classes with this trainer to potentially save my dogs life from getting hit by a car.  in just 6 weeks i had more results with my dog than i had gotten in the last 3 years of training. from that point on i never looked back.  i became a balanced dog trainer myself.  through the years i have become a certified dog trainer, and a member of several international organizations.  i continue to learn knew things everyday and am a firm believer of continuing my education by traveling all over the country and learning from some of the best trainers out there. the relationship i have with freckles has never been better, and i am so grateful i decided to reach out to another trainer.

my goal is to change the lives of others who may be struggling with theIr dogs, who may even think “they’ve tried it all.”  Im here to tell you there is A light at the end of the tunnel.
